Track Record – three years, thousands of keys

13 May 2026

Three years ago, we launched our Track Record mortgages with one simple idea in mind:

If you’ve shown you can pay your rent on time, that should count for something.

And with us, it does.

Fast forward to today and we’re celebrating three brilliant years of Track Record. Since launch, it’s helped around 2,500 people step onto the property ladder.

That’s thousands of keys turned, front-door moments and first-night-in feelings. It’s boxes unpacked. Kettles boiled. New neighbours met. Places our members can finally call their own.

A mortgage built around renters

Buying a home isn’t always about cutting back on coffee or skipping takeaways. For many, the challenge is much bigger than that.

It’s paying high rent while trying to save. It’s watching house prices go up faster than your deposit pot. It’s feeling like you’re doing everything right, but still getting nowhere.

This is exactly what Track Record was built to tackle.

Instead of focusing only on big deposits or traditional criteria, Track Record lets your rent payments do the talking.

If you’ve paid all your rent on time for 12 months in a row within the last 18 months, Track Record uses that as evidence you could afford mortgage repayments. You don’t have to be renting right now to benefit.

That could mean:

  • A smaller deposit (less than 5%), or even no deposit at all. (You don’t need a deposit to apply.)
  • Less pressure to save a lump sum while renting.
  • A clearer, more realistic route forward.

Sound too good to be true? Don’t just take our word for it…

Behind every number is a story

Like Saffron, who feels like she’s achieved the impossible:

“Without the Track Record, we honestly wouldn’t have been able to buy a home. Trying to save for a mortgage deposit while renting feels almost impossible!! The Track Record really was our saviour.”

Or Richard, who got to spend Christmas in his own home:

“Just spent my first Christmas in my new home, after many, many years of trying to get back on the property ladder. For a very long while it seemed totally out of reach, an impossible dream, but now I absolutely love coming back to my little house!

“Which wouldn’t be possible without your Track Record mortgage… can honestly say your customer service all the way through has been excellent, and what a lovely surprise the welcome pack was...

“For anybody thinking about it… I’ve no regrets and haven’t looked back! Thanks for making my dreams come true!”

And there’s Jessica, who did it solo:

“… What can I say, an all-round great experience. Skipton have given me a chance to get on the ladder... The process with Skipton has been smooth and efficient.”

On the day Jessica moved in, she was surprised to see she already had some post waiting.

“It was a welcome home gift box from Skipton. It actually made me emotional… I’ve done all this alone, so this was a really nice touch.”

Different journeys. Same outcome: a front door that’s theirs.

Could Track Record work for you?

If you’re unsure where to start. If you’re fed up with trying to save. If you’re wondering whether your rent could finally lead somewhere…

Track Record could help you take your next step. It might be right for you if:

  • You’re 21 or over.
  • You haven’t owned a property in the UK in the last three years.
  • You’ve paid all your rent on time for 12 months in a row in the last 18 months. You don’t have to be renting right now to benefit.
  • Are currently in a shared housing arrangement, and can demonstrate you've 12 months of rental payment history.

Because your rent already proves a lot. And that small spark of possibility could be all you need to unlock your very own front door.
