Summary Box

Account name 120 Day Notice Account Issue 11
What is the interest rate?
Annual Interest 4.10% gross pa/AER
Interest is earned daily and paid on the anniversary of account opening.
Monthly Interest: No monthly interest option available.
Can Skipton Building Society change the interest rate?
  • Yes, the interest rate is variable, so it can go up or down.
  • Section 8 of our Savings Account Terms and Conditions explains why we may change the interest rate.
  • If you have at least £100 in your account we'll notify you in advance if we intend to reduce your interest rate.
What would the estimated balance be after 12 months based on a £1,000 deposit? The estimated balance after 12 months would be £1,041 assuming that:
  • The account is opened with £1,000 and interest starts being earned straight away
  • No further deposits or any withdrawals are made
  • The interest is paid annually and added to the account
  • The interest rate stays the same for the full 12 months
Estimated balances are for illustrative purposes only and may be less for accounts opened by debit card or cheque.
How do I open and manage my account?
  • This account is available to UK residents and can be opened and managed in any of our branches, by phone or by post (a working email address is required when opening by phone).
  • You can save from £1 up to £1 million per account.
  • Joint accounts are allowed.
Can I withdraw money?
  • You can withdraw money or close the account by giving us 120 days’ notice in branch, by post or by phone (if you’ve set up phone access). Alternatively, you can choose to withdraw money or close the account without notice and lose 120 days' interest on the amount withdrawn. This will be taken from your savings if you haven’t earned enough interest on the account and means you might get back less than you paid in.
  • There is a withdrawal window during which you can withdraw on expiry of the notice period. We will provide you with details when you give notice to make a withdrawal.
  • You can only have one notice period running at any one time.
Additional information
  • AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate and shows what the interest rate would be if interest was paid and added each year.
  • We pay all savings interest gross, which means no tax is deducted. It's your responsibility to pay any tax due, based on your individual circumstances. Tax rules may change in the future.
  • Accounts can be withdrawn from sale at any time and without notice.
