Managing your account online

There are 2 ways to access your Skipton savings or mortgage account online. Both options will let you manage your account 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Skipton Online is our secure website where you can view and manage your Skipton accounts.

Here are a few of the features:

  • Paperless statements - choose to view your statements online
  • Manage your nominated accounts on savings accounts
  • View and manage your personal details
  • Provide your maturity instructions for fixed term savings accounts

Once you have signed up to Skipton Online you will also be able to register to use our mobile app.

Our mobile app

Here are a few of the features:

  • Fast, secure login using your fingerprint, face or PIN
  • Open selected online savings accounts
  • Transfer money between your online savings accounts
  • View the maturity date of any fixed term accounts you hold
  • Generate a Secure Passcode
  • Read and send secure messages.

Online Services FAQs

To make it a little easier for you to find the information you need, we’ve brought together some of our most commonly asked questions.

We take online security very seriously and use two-factor authentication to provide an extra layer of security, which means we rely on more than passwords and memorable information for some activities. Your extra layer of security can be either your Secure Passcode within the mobile app or your One-Time Code.

You don’t need to use this when logging into Skipton Online or the Skipton app, or making a payment into your account(s). You only need to use it for certain activities including:

  • Withdrawing money
  • Transferring money
  • Changing your personal details
  • Setting up a new nominated account

There are a couple of ways you might have locked your account.

If you’ve entered your log in details incorrectly via Skipton Online:

You will then get the option to unlock your account using your Secure Passcode from your Skipton App, or the One-Time Code feature.

If neither of these security methods are available to you, you’ll need to call or web chat with our team so we can unlock your account.

If you’ve entered your 6 digit pin incorrectly via the Skipton App:

You can unlock within the app using your login details for Skipton Online.

The app contains our main form of two factor authentication, Secure Passcode, which is designed to keep your accounts safe.

Whilst we do encourage as many customers as possible to install this, we do understand not everyone has the means or desire to use a mobile app.

As such, we have an alternative called One-Time Code which sends a text message or an automated telephone call to verify any withdrawals or changes to your account.
