Arranging a financial review

If you’ve not looked at your financial plans for some time – or new goals have cropped up – it can really pay off to sit down with a Skipton financial adviser for an in-depth review.

We have Skipton financial advisers available inside every branch, or you can even arrange to meet somewhere more convenient like your home.

What will be discussed?

You. What your priorities and goals are, and how your current savings and investments are placed towards achieving them.

We’ll also spend time in your first review explaining the type of investments we can help you with, help you establish your true personal feelings towards risk and reward, and answer any questions you have.

If we think you’d benefit from receiving financial advice, we’ll arrange a second appointment. This allows us time to research suitable investment options. There will be no fee to pay upfront for this initial review, or for a second appointment. A charge for the advice only applies if you decide to act on our recommendations.

Our expert says...

Matthew Leach

It's incredibly important you are satisfied the advice you receive suits your situation. That's why we'll never rush you into making decisions and explain everything clearly. We'll never forget this is your money we are dealing with and your financial future that matters.

Matthew Leach, Director of Financial Services

How will you receive advice?

At your second meeting we’ll present our tailored recommendations to you, including the charges that would apply if you decided to act.

We’ll give you as much time as you require to go away and consider this advice. There will be no pressure to take things further. If you decide to go ahead, your adviser will assist you with the completion of all the necessary paperwork.

When you should consider a review

  • If you’ve not had one for some time
  • If there’s changes to your circumstances; for example retirement or receiving an inheritance
  • If you want to see if you can get your money working harder
  • If your risk outlook has changed
  • If you’ve investments elsewhere and don’t know how they’re performing

Your next steps

If you're ready to talk to us about investing, then you can find out more on our financial advice website. Here you will be able to find your nearest financial adviser, book a financial advice review or give us a call and talk to a member of our Review and Financial Advice Team.

Our recommendations are likely to include stock market-linked investments. These aren’t like building society savings accounts, as your capital is at risk and you may get back less than you invest. The value of your investments and any income from them may fall as well as rise.
