At Skipton, we want you and your family to feel in control of your finances during times of need. That’s why through Legal & General we offer Income Protection Benefit to help protect your monthly income for you and your loved ones' lifestyle in times of poor health.
If you’re unable to work because of illness or injury which results in a loss of earnings, income protection insurance provides a regular tax-free monthly payment which should help to relieve the worry of financial commitments. You can then concentrate on the more important task of recovery.
This income protection benefit is available to those who are employed, self-employed or house persons. The plan is offered to those over the age of 18, and covers you until the date of your choice between the ages of 50 to 70.
- The policy is designed to pay you a regular monthly benefit if you can't work due to incapacity caused by an illness or an injury and which results in a loss of earning, during the policy term.
- The policy can help towards your everyday living expenses if you work less than 16 hours per week, are not in paid employment or are not working at the time of the claim; we will consider you to be a houseperson.
- If you return to work after a claim, your cover will continue for the remainder of your life or until the policy ends, whichever comes first.
This is not an investment product and has no cash value unless a valid claim is made.
As with all insurance policies, limitations and exclusions apply. For example, this plan does not include unemployment cover therefore will not pay out if you become unemployed. Tax laws may change which could affect the monthly benefit the plan pays out. Please download and read the Key Features of Income Protection Benefit plan.
