While mementos, music collections and home technology are among the most prized home possessions we say we’d regret losing, we’re not necessarily taking the best steps to protect them.
Of the 2,000 people we polled* in December 2016 more than half said sentimental keepsakes like baby clothes, photographs and children’s artwork were the items closest to their hearts. High-value items like smartphones and the family car were also considered precious – if only because it would be expensive and inconvenient to lose them.
*Research conducted by Onepoll on behalf of Skipton Building Society. 2,000 UK adults who are cohabiting / married and living together were polled. The figures have been weighted and are representative of all GB adults (aged 18+).
