Our charity partnership - Mental Health UK

We believe in doing more for our customers and communities.

As part of that commitment, we run a charity partnership programme where we work together with important causes. We’re going beyond helping people with their finances. Through the programme, we’re looking to support our chosen charity partner and help build a better Society. Our charity partnerships are about far more than fundraising. We want to give more people access to good places to discuss mental health. Keep reading below to find out about the work we’re doing.

Mental Health UK

In January 2020, we partnered with Mental Health UK. Our mission has been to support our people, customers and communities by giving more people access to good places to discuss mental health. The charity has seen an unprecedented increase in demand for its services since 2020 and we’re proud to support them. So far, we’ve donated £220,000 to Mental Health UK through our partnership, some of these funds are helping them to grow Clic, an online peer support community.

Clic

Clic’s online community, brought to you by Mental Health UK, allows you to speak safely and openly about how you’re feeling. Clic has a wealth of mental health resources, advice and information for you to use and share. It provides a safe environment where you can post anonymously about how you’re feeling and connect with others with shared experiences. It’s helped thousands of people feel less isolated, but we know there are thousands more who need help and don’t know where to turn and your support could enable us to reach more people across the UK.

#TodayIWill

In 2020 we created #TodayIWill to encourage people to do something to support their own health and wellbeing - from mindfulness and finding time to relax to enjoying the great outdoors. The campaign encouraged people to focus on positive thinking and positive doing and to do something that made them happier.

This is what MHUK had to say:

“We’re so grateful to everyone at Skipton for the support you have shown us. From the launch, which was a great kick start to the partnership, to the pledges and donations made by colleagues, and of course the hugely generous donation. We’re so grateful for your support – it really does mean the world to us and has given us the confidence that we can continue our life saving and life changing work through the most difficult period in many people’s lifetimes.”

But there’s still more to do. If you’d like to support our charity partner, Mental Health UK (charity no: 1170815), so they can continue to do their much-needed work, you can donate online through our JustGiving page.
