2.4 Kids Becomes 1.3
The traditional family, with a mother, father and 2.4 children, has become a thing of the past, as the financial pressures of modern life have resulted in adults having fewer children – and in some cases, choosing to have none at all.
Findings from our latest research show that 89% of people feel under pressure from the rising costs of living – so much so that one in five has decided not to have any children at all. Of those for whom it's more a case of 'when' than 'if', 39% of 25 – 34 year olds say they have delayed parenthood due to their financial situation – and 24% have waited more than five years.
