Take a trip behind the scenes of our

latest TV advert, ‘Take a Pause’

Every day we just get on with our busy lives. But when was the last time you paused to think about your future?

Our new TV advert interrupts the busyness of life and invites you to take time out to do something very important instead – make sure you've got your plans in place for the future you want. People tell us they’re worried about their future, have many questions and often don’t know where to start. This is where we come in. We want to encourage you to pause and talk to us about your life ahead.

Lynne Cooke

It’s been 10 years since we were last on TV and I’m very excited to see us back with such a strong message to share. As a mutual, we’re passionate about helping customers enjoy a better life and believe that having strong plans in place for the future supports this. I’ve been guilty of putting off taking time out to think about my financial future - I very much needed to pause. We hope you enjoy the advert as much as we enjoyed making it!

Behind the scenes

We're proud to say that our advert was all filmed in Skipton, North Yorkshire. From our head office to the high street and branch. Here are a few snapshots from the day capturing the detail.

Meet our star colleagues

Not only did we use our local surroundings, we also featured some of our very own colleagues, who loved every minute of taking part. Here are just a few of those involved.

I think we've captured what we're all about really well because we've been closely involved throughout. The end result is genuinely Skipton – this is us, no pretentiousness. And if you look carefully, you can see me acting in the background, while trying not to look fascinated at what was going on around me.

I was involved from the initial concept discussions right through to signing off the final edit. I coordinated the production, from selecting cast members, locations and wardrobe, to getting scripts approved. But it’s been a real team effort. I’m so proud of it – I can’t wait to see it on TV and to hear what our customers think.

I was over the moon to get the role of Web Chat Guy but I got butterflies in my stomach when it came to filming! I had a few practice runs to 'type and smile' and after 40 minutes we had the take. Giving colleagues chance to be part of something like this shows that Skipton’s proud of its employees – and I was bursting with pride to be part of it.
