In September 2015 we introduced a dogs allowed policy in our branches. This means you don’t have to leave your canine companion outside when you visit us; they’re more than welcome to come in with you. We realise this small gesture makes a huge difference to dog owners and we’re proud that Skipton is leading the way.
Customer Christopher Burley switched his accounts to us as soon as he found out his dog was allowed into our branches.
Mr. Burley’s canine companion is a 13 year old French bulldog called Jody; she is blind due to an illness and relies on Mr. Burley to be her guide. It’s essential that Jody is with him wherever he goes.
Mr. Burley says: “When I was turned away from another building society for trying to take Jody in with me, I decided to give Skipton a try. I was delighted that not only was I allowed to take Jody inside the branch with me, but that we were both offered a drink.
“I decided to immediately switch to Skipton, as it’s the only building society that provides convenient, dog friendly financial services.”
Ian Cornelius, Commercial Director at Skipton adds: “As a nation of dog lovers, we understand how important a man’s best friend is to our customers. That’s why we are actively welcoming dogs of all shapes and sizes into our branches. We encourage customers to look out for the dogs allowed stickers in their nearest branch.”
