To provide a clearer picture of the information in your Year End Mortgage Statement we have provided sample forms with comprehensive explanations of each section.
We can provide online assistance with the Mortgage Statement Summary, Mortgage Statement Transactions, Mortgage Statement 2007 Insert and Your Mortgage Statement Notes.
Please read the following important notes concerning your Mortgage Statement. These should answer any questions you have.
If after reading these notes you need any further help, please call our Mortgage Helpline on 08458 501711*
- Payments
Payments by standing order or giro credit take several days to reach us, so there may be a slight difference between the date on your bank statement and that shown on your Annual Statement, particularly over bank holiday periods.
We may, from time to time, implement a mortgage rate change after a payment has been requested from your bank. An interest rate increase will result in an amount of interest being charged to the account which is higher than that collected, so will increase the balance outstanding on your account. The opposite applies in the event of a mortgage interest rate decrease.
The Payments column should match your own records. If there is any discrepancy, please forward the Statement and any supporting documentation to Head of Audit Services, Skipton Building Society, Principal Office, The Bailey, Skipton, North Yorkshire BD23 1DN.
- Personal details
If any of the details relating to your name, address and postcode are incorrect, please write to Head of Audit Services, at Skipton Building Society, Principal Office, The Bailey, Skipton, North Yorkshire BD23 1DN, who will then deal with the change(s).
- Interest
The interest charge shown on your Statement is the gross interest charged for the year to 31 December 2007.
- Arrears and Arrears Charges
It is essential that regular monthly payments are maintained. If for any reason you are unable to do so, you must IMMEDIATELY contact The Collections Department on 08458 501 766* and we will endeavour to help you.
Where arrears charges have been debited to your account on 31 January 2007, these represent the amount charged for the year ended 31 December 2006. Any charges incurred during 2007, as shown on your Statement, will be debited to your account on 31 January 2008 and will be interest bearing from 1 February 2008 unless paid directly to us before this date.
- Mortgage Type
Your chosen repayment method is confirmed on the front of your Annual Statement Summary.
If you have not already done so, you are advised to consider some form of life cover to enable your mortgage to be repaid in the event of death prior to the end of the mortgage term. For more information, or a quote, call 08457 171777*.
