In 2006 Skipton Building Society became sponsors of the ITV programme The Dales Diary and we are delighted to continue this sponsorship for 2007.
The 2007 series will run for 20 weeks, increased from 10 weeks in 2006, on ITV1 in the Yorkshire, Tyne Tees and Border regions, starting on Thursday 2 August.
The new series follows presenter Luke Casey as he once again sets out to travel our beautiful northern hill country, meeting all sorts of fascinating people whose characters and livelihoods are shaped by this timeless and dramatic landscape. With each episode, The Dales Diary explores a variety of themes related to the husbandry, the history, and the cultural heritage of this remarkable part of northern Britain.
The Dales Diary is one of the most loved ITV1 programmes, having run for 16 consecutive years, making it the longest running ITV regional series. In 2007, the show received the prestigious Royal Television Society's 'Most Popular Regional TV Programme of the last 20 years' award. In the same year it also received the Independent News Group's award for 'Best Regional Series'.
