The Grassington Festival of Music and Arts began in 1981 and the nationally renowned festival, which runs for a fortnight each June, provides an affordable opportunity for audiences to appreciate the arts in all forms, from classical to comedy. The 2007 event included the likes of Jo Brand, Julian Lloyd Webber, Black Voices and Wu Qian.
Held in and around the Yorkshire Dales village, the Grassington Festival also runs a variety of workshops such as poetry classes, encouraging people to learn and improve their own skills in addition to enjoying world class entertainment.
The Society has been the title sponsor for the last two years and our support is enabling the festival to grow and continue to attract an exciting and diverse line up. Look out for the 2008 festival, due to be held 13-28 June.
