Proud to support Pride

We’ll be taking part in Leeds Pride – Yorkshire's biggest celebration of LGBT – with over 40,000 people expected to attend on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 August.

We’ve been busy planning our involvement over the past few months, with a vehicle and walking float in the parade on Sunday 6 August, where we will be playing music, handing out sweets, waving to the crowds and soaking up the atmosphere.

We’ve also installed a large Rainbow vinyl across the entire front of our Leeds city centre branch to show our support for Leeds Pride. We will be updating Social Media and our website with content – more details on this coming soon!

It's an exciting week on our quest to become a more diverse and inclusive organisation. Pride day on Friday followed by Leeds Pride Sunday is a great way to kick things off. However, this is very much the start - we'll be looking to grow and utilise the LGBT network over the coming months to share thoughts, ideas and support to make us an even better place to work.

Supporting diversity

As part of our commitment to diversity and inclusivity as an organisation we have launched an LGBT Network for our colleagues.

We want our organisation to attract and retain a diverse range of colleagues and we want our colleagues to work in an environment where they can be themselves, flourish, perform well and realise their potential. The launch of our LGBT Network provides us with a great opportunity to focus on this.

The aim of the network is to enable colleagues to come together to share information, support and to create a comfortable and fully inclusive environment in which we can each reach our full potential without fear of discrimination.

The LGBT Network is the first of our network groups, with plans for groups dedicated to issues such as gender, mental health, age discrimination and flexible working in the future.
