Supporting diversity

As part of our commitment to diversity and inclusivity as an organisation we have launched an LGBT Network for our colleagues.

We want our organisation to attract and retain a diverse range of colleagues and we want our colleagues to work in an environment where they can be themselves, flourish, perform well and realise their potential. The launch of our LGBT Network provides us with a great opportunity to focus on this.

The aim of the network is to enable colleagues to come together to share information and support, to create a comfortable and fully inclusive environment in which we can each reach our full potential without fear of discrimination.

We held a diversity day at head office, celebrating diversity, inclusivity and equality as an organisation, with the creation of a rainbow handprint mural wall.

In August we took part in Leeds Pride - Yorkshire's biggest celebration of LGBT+ culture – with a vehicle and walking float in the parade and we also installed a large Rainbow vinyl across the entire front of our Leeds city centre branch to show our support.

The LGBT Network is the first of our network groups, with plans for groups dedicated to issues such as gender, mental health, age discrimination and flexible working in the future.

We value the contribution of all our colleagues. A key part of this is recognising the uniqueness of us all and the value we get from embracing diverse perspectives. By doing so, we believe our people will realise their potential and our customers will feel the benefit.
