Charitable giving

Giving to charity is something that’s rooted in our desire to help others and make a positive impact on the world around us. It can strengthen communities, transform lives and help create a better world for all.

By donating, fundraising and volunteering with charitable groups across the country, we aim to help the causes that mean the most to our members.

Age UK

Age UK was chosen by our members to receive funding over the next three years. This funding will help provide vital information, advice, support and friendship for older people – including those living in poverty or in deprived communities.

As part of this, Age UK will use the funding to provide one-to-one, tailored advice sessions. These sessions will support vulnerable older people to live in safe, secure and warm homes.

Funding will also be used to carry out research into the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on older households.

National Energy Action

Chosen by our Skipton colleagues, National Energy Action is the national charity working to end fuel poverty in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

They offer advice and support to fuel-poor households, as well as advocating for policy and regulation to protect the most vulnerable.

In partnership with National Energy Action, we’ll support their work across the UK to help more people have a warm and safe home, providing community-based support for households in areas with high rates of fuel poverty.

Mental Health UK

Since 2020, we’ve been partners with Mental Health UK, a charity that delivers national and local services empowering people to understand and manage their mental health.

For many people, money is the greatest contributor to poor mental health. In 2017, Mental Health UK launched its award-winning Mental Health & Money Advice service, which supports people to understand, manage and improve their mental health and money issues.

The charity has seen an unprecedented increase in demand for its services since 2020. So far, we’ve raised over £1.1 million for Mental Health UK through our partnership.
